Sasha is a director/cinematographer shooting across the world. He entered the industry professionally at the emerging time of pro digital cinema, noticing an opportunity for self-starting filmmakers to break in. He put his savings towards buying a cinema camera and started offering himself as a freelancer to work on projects in Los Angeles. He refers to it as if a musician would buy a musical instrument, he/she would want to play. Sasha was constantly honing his craft, continuously shooting projects he was passionate about to grow his portfolio and showcase his vision, as he would say – “to get hired for who you are, rather than to just get work” and established himself as working filmmaker.
His visual style is cinematic, sensitive, emotional, visual storytelling with an element of beauty and
fashion, a bit of character, a bit of an edge. He likes motivated lighting and beautiful scenery. As an experienced feature film cinematographer, Sasha is capable of shooting projects large and small. He also likes to shoot photographs – character driven portraits and editorials.
Sasha sees filmmaking as a challenging yet extremely rewarding profession that allows us to see the world and celebrate life in many creative ways. His approach is staying effective, humble, doing it for joy and ultimately letting the work speak for itself.
